The Exmoor Pony |
The
Exmoor
The
Exmoor is believed to date from prehistoric times and
the moor's isolation meant there has been little cross-breeding
to change the pony from its early ancestors.
They are extremely hardy and run wild, but are rounded
up once a year for branding and registration.
They are strong enough to carry adults and despite their
wild upbringing, make good children's ponies with training.

(stallions and geldings).

thick neck and deep chest, short, clean legs and hard
feet, dense coat.

Uses: Riding.
