THE NORWEGIAN FJORD
This
unusual looking pony is believed to date back to prehistoric
times and closely resembles the Asiatic wild horse seen
in prehistoric cave paintings. Its history in a rugged,
mountainous area of extreme weather conditions means
it is exceptionally sure-footed and hardy.
Origin: Norway.
Colour: Yellow or mouse dun, with dorsal stripe, and
silver and black mane and tail.
Height: 13 - 14.2 hands.
Conformation: Broad forehead and small ears, short neck,
deep body, short strong legs, hard feet.
Character: Docile, strong-willed but kind and willing.
Uses: Riding and driving, farm, mountain pack horse,
excellent child's pony.
