THE ORLOV TROTTER
One
of the foremost trotting breeds, it was developed in
Russia in the 18th century by Count Alexis Orlov. More
recently crossed with imported Standardbreds to produce
the Russian trotter.
Origin: Russia.
Colour: Usually grey or black.
Height: 15.2 - 17 hands.
Conformation: Small head, long neck, straight
shoulder, deep girth, powerful hindquarters, a minimum
of 8 inches of bone.
Character: Active, bold.
Uses: Trotting, driving, riding.
