SELLE FRANÇAIS
This
modern warmblood owes much to the Thoroughbred, the
French Trotter and the Anglo-Norman also had considerable
influence. The term was first used in 1958 and the first
stud book was published in 1965. Its most famous examples
to date are Jappeloup, Quito deBaussy and Galoubet.
Origin: France.
Colour: Usually chestnut, although all
colours are acceptable.
Height: 15 - 17 hands.
Conformation: Fine head on long, elegant
neck, sloping shoulders, well-sprung ribs, powerful
hindquarters, good bone.
Character: Intelligent, tractable.
Uses: All equestrian disciplines.
