WHAT IS "ENDURANCE GB"? (EGB)

During 2001, the British Endurance Riding Association and the Endurance Horse and Pony Society have come together to form Endurance GB. As from 1st January 2002 this will be the Governing Body for Endurance Riding in Great Britain. The Scottish Endurance Riding Club will be an affiliated member, so for the first time there will be one body representing Endurance Riding, within Great Britain.

WHAT ARE ITS AIMS?

To stimulate greater interest and participation in the sport of endurance riding throughout Great Britain

HOW?

With a calendar of competitive rides held in every part of the country from spring to late autumn and local events throughout the year, a comprehensive training and information sharing programme through seminars and meetings, there is something for everyone at every level to participate and enjoy

WHY JOIN?

The chance to participate in rides throughout the country. Meet others with the same interest in riding and to compete, either modestly or seriously, locally or nationally.

Receive regular newsletters containing updates, letters, features of specialist interest to endurance riders. An omnibus fixture list for the season, indicating where rides will be taking place, what classes and where to send entries. Third party insurance, Rulebook, the Constitution and your Membership Card. Special lower entry fees for members.

Opportunity to accumulate mileage awards plus special awards in many categories which are awarded both nationally and at local branches.

WHO FITS IN?

Anyone and everyone! Even non-riding members of the family can take part as back-up crew. Crewing can vary from a simple helping hand to a complicated well practised part of a riders strategy, depending on you and your crews ambition.
