David McDonald is a certified farrier who developed his boots in Australia. Old Mac’s are popular for both riding and therapeutic purposes. Garrett Ford is an accomplished equestrian with extensive experience in boot design and fabrication. Both Ford and McDonald have exciting new designs that will soon be on the market. Hoof boots are now a viable option for steel shoe replacements and have been used in the most extreme long-distance events in the world. Most are used as hoof protection for a barefoot horse, but they can also be carried as a spare in the case of a lost shoe.
