Bare is Better says the rising interest in natural hoof care

New research and rising interest in natural hoof care worldwide has prompted the design of EasyCare Inc.’s latest hoof boot, “The Bare.” EasyCare’s new addition is the closest thing to “being barefoot while still being a boot” ever! Several unique qualities of this boot will interest barefoot enthusiasts and long distance riders alike:

First: In keeping with nature’s perfection, the sole of the boot is cupped like the natural foot and flexes with the movement of each stride. The boot has frog and wall support and allows for hoof expansion and contraction that is so essential to circulation and proper hoof function.

Second: The Bare has a simple, form-fitting design with very few moving parts. It has a bungee fastening system on the front of the boot which requires a one-time adjustment before use, so there is no daily tinkering with cables or straps.

Third: Unlike the Easyboot or the Easyboot Epic, the Bare does not have inside cleats. Instead, the inside of the boot contains a “comfort stap” that secures the heel. The boot stays on by means of a gaiter and a front bungee system. The gaiter stabilizes the boot and prevents it from coming off, even during the most adverse conditions. Optional “tapers” are also available that allow the boot to go without a back (heel) strap.

The Bare has already been tested at some of the toughest endurance events in the world. It has successfully completed several 100-mile and 250-mile endurance rides in extreme conditions on barefoot horses. Not only did The Bare stay in place, but it didn’t rub, turn or twist. The results are even more impressive considering many of the test miles were completed in deep, boot-sucking mud!

Using the Easyboot Bare is a natural way to provide hoof protection, traction, treatment, cushioning and correction while allowing the horse to go barefoot at all other times. They fit snugly to the hoof, and are lighter and last many times longer than standard steel plates. Properly fitted, they stay on as well as nailed-on shoes with an important advantage – if an Easyboot Bare is pulled off, the rider can put it right back on.

EasyCare, Inc. has been a leader in the hoof boot industry for years, beginning with the invention of the Easyboot for equine navicular disease, back in the early 70’s. Since then, the need for boots has grown tremendously as more and more horse owners see the healthy advantages of pulling shoes and switching to natural hoof care. EasyCare is excited about being part of this growing trend.
