N.E.A. was formed by a group of sidesaddle enthusiasts in 1980 when correspondence requesting more information kept pouring in to us. We decided that a newsletter would be a much easier way to meet people's inquiries, and for a modest fee, we could engage a knowledgeable person to give a clinic. The clinic led to the idea of an all-aside show and a year-end awards program with a banquet. Subsequently, our club was born.
Our association sponsors clinics with top instructors, and, schedule permitting, an all sidesaddle show each year. We are frequently invited to give mounted demonstrations and historic fashion shows for expos, clubs and historical societies.
Members receive bi-monthly NEA newsletter featuring historic and "how to" articles, member news, classifieds and calendar. We also supply information about saddles, habits, patterns, instructors and events. Membership includes the Annual Banquet and Awards Program, designed both, to encourage sidesaddle use in all aspects of riding and to celebrate the accomplishments of our members.
