Old Mac's Hoof Boots Launches the G2

EasyCare, Inc. and Old Mac's have released a new and improved "Generation 2" Old Mac's Multi-purpose Horse Boot. The G2 Old Mac's is a fine-tuned version of its popular predecessor, re-engineered for a sleeker look, better performance and greater longevity. One of its most positive features is a new tread pattern that provides aggressive traction while avoiding pressure on sensitive internal hoof structures. While traction is extremely important, very aggressive traction can inhibit a horse's natural way of going and can increase stress on joints, tendons and upper extremities. The G2 provides cushioning at the sole (the suspension system), while allowing the tread to "take hold" of the road or any other challenging surface. Another enhancement to the sole is the removal of the point at the toe. The G2 tread is rounded for a natural breakover, softening those hard miles that many horses travel in boots. Holes have also been added to provide drainage from the boot.

Another design change is the integration of the side flaps into the sole of the boot, and the addition of a front protective shield. This has made the G2 more stylish and streamlined. The side flap integration narrows the boot and reduces the amount of bulk over the foot, while the shield prevents wear at the front of the boot. For horses whose hooves were too narrow to fit into the original Old Mac's, there is good news! The shape of the sole on the G2 is different than the original - slightly more long than wide. This is an important feature that will allow more horses to wear the boots comfortably and securely. Along with the new shapes comes new sizing. Measuring and reviewing the new charts will be necessary to ensure a correct fit.

Old Mac's Multi-purpose Horse Boots are a genuine and natural alternative to metal shoes. They facilitate the natural shock absorbing, weight bearing function of the hoof and eliminate brittle hoof walls caused by the nailing on of shoes. They have many therapeutic uses and can be worn during breeding and transportation.
