Pony Of The Year Show
Easter Monday proved a fabulous day at Pony of the Year Show. Easter Eggs (courtesy of Tesco Stores Ltd) were in abundance for the winning children and Sky Sports covered the final Championships to be screened on 28th April (courtesy of the British Show Jumping Association and Templant Hire Ltd).
Superb pony jumping commenced with the winner of the Whittaker Horse Boxes 128cm Grand Prix Robbie Jenkins on the appropriately named ‘Show Me Heaven’ followed by the Lithgow and Miller Families 138cm Grand Prix champion Olivia Wells on the famous name sake ‘More than Milton’.
The championships culminated with the Templant Hire Ltd JA Grand Prix where the Pony of the Year was the much heralded CJ’s Kemosabi with Louise Saywell, a combination who in the last 12 months have won European Individual Gold medal and Team silver and the BSJA Outstanding Pony and Rider Combination Award and who are starting their final year together with the ultimate championship.
The BSJA Championship finals, hosted by Pony of the Year Show saw Oliver Davies and Nantcol Premier, competing in their first class at their first ever Pony of the Year Show, come through to win the 128/138 Restricted Handicap Open Final with Daniel Neilson on Highfields Sir Hugo champions of the BSJA 148 Restricted Open Final.
